GOLD MEDALS
To a member of the Society who has served animal science and the Society honourably and in such a distinguished manner that his/her quality of scientific contributions, achievements, involvement and extended service to South Africa’s animal production industry has been recognised as exceptionally meritorious by many, both nationally and internationally.
SILVER MEDALS
In respect of achievements in a particular year pertaining to:
- In the research category, an exceptionally deserving and orignal research effort or meritorious contributions which have been published in recognised and refereed scientific journals
- In the technology transfer category, exceptional achievements or innovations of significant importance in the use and transfer of knowledge and technology regarding animal science and related fields; and
- In the industry development category, exceptional contributions and involvement that significantly influenced and directed the development and improvement of production in the livestock industry.
BRONZE MEDALS
In respect of achievements in a particular year pertaining to:
- In the research category, a meritorious thesis, dissertation or other scientific publication relevant to research in the field of animal science;
