The study was conducted firstly to establish the influence of cultivar and environment on the protein-, amino acid and ether extractable oil concentration of sunflower seed and secondly to study the influence of soil pH and fertilization on the protein and the ether extractable oil content of the seed. The results indicate that the environment has a significant influence on the parameters investigated. Positive correlations were found between the protein and lysine (r2 = 0,65) and the protein and ether extractable oil (r2 =0,26) concentration of the seeds. NPK fertilization and soil pH had no significant influence on the protein or ether extractable oil concentration of the seeds.
