The influence of milking interval on milk production
The influence of milking intervals of 12, 16, 20 and 24 hours on milk production was studied in 24 Friesian cows for an experimental period of 60 days. Milk, fat and protein production was 6,4%; 5,8% and 1,6% lower with 16 than with the 12 hour intervals;16.1%; 10,7% and 11,2% with 20 than with 12 hour intervals and 32,6%; 27,1% and 29,0% with 24 than with the 12 hour milking intervals respectively. Sodium percentage were 10,1%; 25,3% and 44,5% higher in the 16, 20 and between the 24 hour intervals in the l2 hour intervals.
